Michelle Kao is a self-taught visual development artist with 8 years of experience across animation, film, and gaming. After studying the full 3D animation pipeline - graduating top 10 with bursaries and earning a third-year Annecy candidate trip - she began as an animator, moved into texturing and shading, and transitioned into visual development. She expanded into environment design on the job, trained by top international artists.

Her career spans local and international work for clients including BBC, HBO, Netflix, Disney, and Lucasfilm, alongside freelance projects. She has led teams of up to 14 artists, held lead roles in texture, environment, and vis dev, and now serves as Art Director at a game studio, directing its latest title.
